There are many opportunities to do either volunteer work or an academic internship for credit at 吃瓜网. Academic internships are generally for one, two, or three credits and are used towards the general liberal arts requirement. Opportunities include, among others, teaching English as a second language to Spanish-speaking members in our region through the Latino Community Advocacy Program (under the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council); working at WSWHE BOCES, Language and Culture Resource Center, which does outreach to the Spanish community through education projects; and Literacy New York Greater Capital Region, which serves individuals who want to improve their reading, writing, and math skills, and their fluency in English.
